Responsible fiscal management and competitive policies at the federal level are extremely important to businesses in Newfoundland and Labrador. The NLEC regularly consults with the federal government on issues of importance to our members, including: creating a competitive tax regime; competitive Employment Insurance and CPP premiums; modern and efficient Employment Insurance and Immigration systems; responsible government spending; and debt reduction, including public sector pension reforms.
