August 31st, 2022 St. John’s, NL – Jaclyn Sullivan has been chosen as the successful candidate for the Executive Director of the NL Employers’ Council. Sullivan is a long-time employee of the organization, serving as second in command for the last 14 years as manager of public relations and strategy.
“Over the last decade, Jaclyn has played an integral role in helping raise the profile of the Employers’ Council as the prominent voice for a competitive business environment and developing well-researched and evidence-based positions,” said Twila Reid, chair of the board of directors. “We believe Jaclyn will build on our reputation as credible advocates with a strong voice as we continue our work to promote sustainable provincial economic growth and prosperity.”

The Employers’ Council is the only province-wide business advocacy organization that represents and connects senior business leaders from all industries and regions of the province. A member-based organization made up of senior business leaders who want a prosperous future for NL, the organization advocates for public policy that will create sustainable economic growth to benefit the whole province. Ms. Sullivan was appointed acting Executive Director of the Employers’ Council in May 2022 after the departure of former Executive Director Richard Alexander, who left to pursue a new professional challenge. Her appointment as permanent Executive Director comes after an open and rigorous selection process undertaken by the organization’s board of directors.
Jaclyn was born and raised in Newfoundland & Labrador. Before joining the Employers’ Council, she Managed Canadian pre-release publicity and promotions for Walt Disney Studios at Allied Integrated Marketing in Toronto. She is a graduate of Memorial University and is currently completing her final course in an Executive MBA in Social Enterprise Leadership from the University of Fredericton. She also holds a post-graduate diploma in Corporate Communications from Seneca College and has completed the Institute of Corporate Directors-Rottman School of Management NFP Director Education Program.
