The following services are available to ALL employers in the province free of charge:
Assistance and advice on workers’ compensation issues
Researching and filing WorkplaceNL and WHSCRD appeals, assistance with the case management process within WorkplaceNL, understanding the assessment process and assisting in assessment appeals.
Assistance and advice on occupational health & safety requirements
Review of employer OH&S programs and policies, assistance with PRIME, and advice for OH&S committees
NLEC members can also receive confidential one-on-one assistance and advice on other employment related issues from employer advisors, other NLEC staff and/or Board Members as a benefit of membership, including but not limited to:
- Labour Standards, labour relations, and human rights
- Best practices in human resource management, including development of employment policies, handbooks, and employment contracts
- Discipline and terminations
- Attendance management
- Recruitment
- Responsibilities under federal and provincial privacy legislation in relation to employment
- Employment Insurance benefits
